Critical Thinking: Performance Patterns

Here's an interesting resource on Critical Thinking. A colleague of mine (thanks Beth Crosby!) pointed out the model that led me to this site.

Do you find your students getting stuck at either Biased Jumper or Perpetual Analyzer (Performance Patterns)? Hope you find this useful for helping them move beyond those stages.

Discussion Leadership Skills

This resource is oriented toward developing your discussion leadership skills for community participation, such as you might experience as an activist in your local or professional community.

Leadership Development - Group Facilitation

From Iowa State University - this resource page also lists two other classic resources: McKeachie's Teaching Tips and Barbara Gross Davis' Tools for Teaching. I recommend both of them as good sources for quick ideas.

Welcome!

Welcome to my Lifelong Learning Community. I started this blog because I think that we form learning communities in many ways, but the ones we form through educational institutions often don't extend beyond a class and a semester. But it doesn't have to be that way! We can form learning communities that stay with us for a lifetime. This blog is my attempt to create a space where that can happen for my students, alumni, friends, and colleagues.
